The Prosser School District is a large area extending north of the Hanford Nuclear Reservation and south of the Columbia River at the Washington and Oregon border. The city has about 6,000 residents and Prosser High School has around 850-900 students. The students are 64% Hispanic/Latino, 31% White, and 1% Asian. About 70% of Prosser students qualify as low income and 20% of the students qualify for Migrant Student Services. Mr. Dan Norris is their fearless band leader, he has 80 students in the middle school program (55 band and 25 choir).  In the high school program, he has 75 kids (51 band and 24 choir). Due to his leadership, the program has grown from 130 kids to 175 students. Thank you Mr. Norris for working with us and having us feature in your town newspaper!
