DONATIONS

Union Gap consists of approximately 600 students from K-8th Grade. The school is a Title 1 District and 95% of the families live on a low income. Every student is on the Community Eligibility Program and qualifies for free meals. 81% are Hispanic, 2.3% are homeless, and 28% are English language learners.  Students cannot afford to rent or purchase their own instruments for band and the school itself also does not have quality instruments available.  The band instructor at Union Gap, Ms. Linda Doria, teaches kids from elementary, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. She stated that “If any of my students want to play a flute, clarinet, baritone horn, bass clarinet, or low instrument, we do not have any more available. If you could help us by donating any instruments, it would be so appreciated, and it would make a big difference for these amazing young students who want to play an instrument in our school.”
